Kunsthaus Kannen is hosting the 2x2 Forum for Outsider Art for the sixth time. The Forum has become an established international art fair where studios, artists and galleries come together to present artworks by people with disabilities and mental illnesses. It contributes to the visibility of underrepresented artists and promotes a more inclusive art sector – without these works, many talents would remain hidden. Both traditional and unconventional forms of art are on display, ranging from painting, drawing and sculptures to found objects, mixed media and assemblages. These artworks demonstrate how Outsider Art is an equal part of the contemporary art world. I would like to wish everyone new and exciting experiences filled with lively conversations as you form new friendships at the 2x2 Form, explore Münster and discover the Alexianer Campus. I would like to thank Lisa Inckmann, director of Kunsthaus Kannen, and her team for organizing and carrying out this wonderful and important exhibition.
